Baby Bump!

With my ever expanding waistband, we decided now was as good of time as any to get some maternity pictures done. It was so much fun, and Ellaina was into everything...except the pictures. There was a water fountain that she just loved to play in, and by the end of the session, she was drenched. It was so much fun! Here are some of the pictures.

Baby Shower!

My Sisters and Friends decided to throw me a baby shower (hostesses in attached photo). It was such a wonderful time, and there were so many friends there to celebrate our upcoming arrival. My girlfriend Toni had decided on an Asian theme...(I am always craving Chinese food right now, so perfect) and all the girls ran with it. It was such a beautiful shower, and even included fortune cookies as parting gifts. My favorite part of the shower was the prayer necklace. Everyone picked a bead, said a prayer out loud for my family and I, then the bead was placed on a thread. It was made into a necklace that we wear during the delivery so we are surrounded by prayers. It was such a touching moment and made me realize how truly blessed I am to have so much love surrounding Brad, Ellaina and I. I am so grateful to all my family and dear friends I have made here in Texas!

Mother's Day

My second Mother's day has come and gone, and I just wanted to share my appreciation with all the other mothers out there. It is incredibly enjoyable to have a day to really be grateful for all the wonderful guidance mothers give. Whether it is a mother to a daughter, or mother to another mother. I have been blessed with so many incredible women in my life and they have made all my journeys so much more smooth. Thank you to all the Mothers and non-mother friends, for all your support, guidance and love over the years.

We celebrated mother's day pretty low key. We went to the mall to eat a late lunch at The Cheese Cake Factory. I think everyone was doing the same, so we went to PF Changs (I am craving spicy food) and found the same results, so headed to Pei Wei. No lines there, so we had a really enjoyable lunch, and Ellaina thought she was such a big girl getting to drink lemonade and getting to drink it from a kids cup. It was so relaxing and pleasurable. Even the driving to different places was nice, since I have been kind of stuck in the house. After that, we tried to take some Blue Bonnet pictures, but still not blue bonnets.
We ended the day relaxing in the backyard enjoying the birds with Ellaina. It was such a wonderful day, and I found myself not really feeling anymore special than any other day. I am extremely fortunate to have such an amazing husband. Brad has a way of making me feel that special everyday and always insisting I rest while he helps out with house things. He is so supportive and incredible. I couldn't ask for anything more, since I get to celebrate great love everyday! Hoping everyone gets to experience this kind of love in their life!

Sorry it has been so long since I have blogged. Not good for a new blog I know. I went to the doctor Tuesday, because I was having some strong and regular contractions (only 30 weeks along). They did some sort of swab test to detect a hormone that is released within 2 weeks of going into labor. My test came back negative, which is a wonderful blessing and a great peace of mind. What it means is that with 99% accuracy I will not be going into labor in the next two weeks. So now, I need to start taking it easy and laying down more. Something about warm baths too, but I am not a fan of baths. As long as the contractions keep up, my doctor is going to keep running that test on me every two weeks. It is all new and a bit scary. I thought I would write about it, since I know I haven't called anyone back recently and wanted to explain why. I am trying to relax, keep Ellaina feeling loved and special, and make it through my remaining days at work. That is about it.

We had taken Ellaina to her first Baseball game on Sunday (before all this happened). Once I get a picture from our friends Cathy and Greg I will post it. We went with them and their son Wolfie. The MN Twins were in town and thought it fitting that they be her 1st game. We had such a wonderful time and she and Wolfie both enjoyed the music and clapping. It was such a cute "Group Date" :-) That is about it for now. I will try to write more this weekend.
A special thank you to my family, especially Kim and Kevin, Laura and Cathy for all their help and support!
