Poopy in the Potty!!

Our little guy went poopy in the potty this evening!! We were getting the kids ready for bed, and asked Braden if he wanted to go pee pee in the potty. He got all excited and said yes, so we ran to the bathroom. Braden pushed the stool over and I helped him on the Dora potty. He kept saying "I'm tooting" and "Excuse me". I thought he really was just tooting, but sure enough he was going poopy. We got him off the potty and all celebrated. I haven't thought about potty training lately, but maybe I should :)

Surprise for Uncle Keith!

Keith has a big 40th birthday coming up, so to keep it a surprise Laura planned an early surprise birthday party. Laura is not always the best at keeping surprises…but who am I to talk. It was such a great time. She rented a double-decker boat on Lake Grapevine. A lot of people turned out to celebrate Keith. The weather was perfect, although the water was COLD. The kids were pretty much the only ones swimming, but Kim and I really wanted to jump from the top. The boat also had a slide off the back, and I really wanted to try that.

The birthday boy was a good sport and went in. Once he did, we decided to follow. It was one of those “I’ll do it if you do it.” kind of things, so we did. Peer pressure is even with you at thirty :) So jokingly Kim and I had planned on holding hands and jumping in together. (I don’t know if it was truly jokingly, or to make sure one of us didn’t chicken out.) Anyway, I decided to make it super juvenile by holding up our hands and shouting “Best friends forever”. Than we…I proceeded to jump. It was a long lonesome jump. I guess I should have told Kim what I was doing, because it caught her by surprise and left me jumping solo into the cold water. It made for a good laugh though. Luckily she didn’t chicken out and jumped after she stopped laughing.

"My Tummy is Sad"

While lifting up her dress and rubbing her tummy, Ellaina expressed she was hungry with those words. A bit dramatic, but adorable non the less. We were waiting for Brad to get home from work. I gave them a PBJ while waiting, but apparently it wasn't enough :) Just in case I didn't get it, she proceeded to tell me "My tummy is hungry talking". I LOVE it!

Best Mother's Day!!

My mother's day actually started Saturday night when we were putting Ellaina to bed. Apparently Brad had been talking to her about Sunday being Mother's day. When I gave her bedtime hugs and kisses, with the biggest smile on her face, she said "Happy Mother's day Momma!". Which made me have the biggest smile on my face :) I turned around to look at Brad, and he was smiling too.

Sunday morning, I got my "Happy mother's day Momma!" again. It was still so wonderful and sweet! Even Braden managed to get out a little "Happy Mother's day!". A little later, we headed out so I could take pictures of the kids. I had been wanting to take some pictures of them for a while now, and this was the perfect opportunity. They were so cute! I cannot wait to get to them and put some on here. It will be a little while though, because I am swamped. Afterwards we had a picnic lunch and went to Town Lake to feed the ducks. It was kind of muddy, so we had to keep an extra eye on our little mud magnet Braden. They both had a lot of fun feeding the ducks and themselves. Not sure who got the most bread, the ducks or the kids.

Daddy and the kids headed upstairs for a little nap, while I went to Micheal's to pick up some supplies for Janet's flower arrangement. Once everyone was awake, the kids helped me paint a butterfly for the arrangement. It was a lot of fun, and nice to incorporate them into the arrangement. We had dinner and headed to the cemetery to put it on Janet's head stone. The kids are still a little too young to understand it, but it is nice to go there as a family. She was Brad's everything. She was such an wonderful mother! I want to make sure the kids know how instrumental she was in making Brad the amazing person and daddy he is today.

All in all it was such a wonderful day! Marring Brad and becoming a mommy has been the best ride of my life...and it has just begun. Hopefully we will be expecting another bambino soon :)

Little Red Riding Hood Visits Great Grandma & Great Papa!

Brad actually had a Saturday off, so we decided to bring brunch to Sherman and visit Grandma & Grandpa J. Apparently it was a good thing we did, because they informed us they were moving back to Minnesota in a couple weeks.

My aunt Low got wind of our visit and asked me to take a formal picture of them while we were there. Grandma and Grandpa were looking their best for pictures and were surprisingly excited about them. I guess Brad doesn’t get his distaste for pictures from his Grandpa :)  It was such a honor to be able to take their pictures. Grandpa was so lovey and sweet with Grandma. He wrapped his arms around her and never let go. The session was a quick one, because Grandma was sliding off the stool and I was not going to be responsible for a fall. Brad helped her back to her wheel chair and we just got to enjoy their company after that.

The kids had a blast visiting and warmed up quickly to them. They each took their turn riding around with Grandma in her wheel chair. It was such a nice visit!Visit with Grandma & Grandpa May 2010 (5)Visit with Grandma & Grandpa May 2010 (3)Visit with Grandma & Grandpa May 2010 (8)Visit with Grandma & Grandpa May 2010 (10)Visit with Grandma & Grandpa May 2010 (14)Visit with Grandma & Grandpa May 2010 (7)

Love the Music!

Wow, what a trip!! Even though we didn't plan this one, it was totally us and incredibly outstanding! Our hotel/villa was called Maya Villas and they were right in the middle of Playa del Carmen's action. We were one street up from the beach and one street down from the action on 5th Avenue. With all the great live music and fabulous Mexican food, 5th Avenue could not have been more perfect. Even the vendors supplied a little comedic entertainment from time to time, when they would make humorous observations about the tourists aloud. I am still trying to catch up from the week off, so hopefully I will be able to post some pictures soon. Here is one for now :)

P.S. Brad and I got bumped up to a villa with a privite patio and hot tub. Couldn't have asked for more.

"Bee Song!"

My kids have a new favorite song, and I have to say I love it...or at least the giggles I get from it! The kids enjoy Honeynut Cheerios at breakfast, although we refer to them as "Buzz Cheerios". The other morning I started singing a bumblebee song while we were at the table. It is part of my never ending supply of songs I partially remember from long ago. Usually I have to make up a word or two because I can't remember it all. Which makes it difficult when they ask me to sing it again and again. :)

The kids were especially excited about this song. While "I'm take home my baby bumblebee.", it stings me. This was the part of the song the kids were rolling on the floor giggling. I have never heard Braden laugh so hard. I ended up grabbing our camcorder to film it. It was such a wonderful way to start and end the day. They both asked me to sing the song at bedtime, and they still giggled so hard. Brad got a kick out of too...their giggles that is. He must not have loved the song, since he didn't ask me to sing him to sleep with it...ha ha ha :)

Spring Cleaning?

Brad and I must have missed the memo the kids sent out about Spring cleaning the pantry. The kids teamed up together and cleared it out. It was so funny and sweet to watch, that we didn’t even try stopping them :)Spring Cleaning May 2010 (9)

Outdoor Fun!

We always enjoy playing with our friends, especially outside. At least once a week we seem to have play dates and I always look forward to them. Sometimes I get a chance to take my camera out and sometimes I don’t. However when I do, I get to capture all the fun :)

Ellaina and Wolfie!

The other day, my friend Cathy and kiddos came to hang out with Ellaina and Braden upstairs, while I had a session in studio. My studio is in the front of my house, so the kids usually get to have movie and popcorn in Mommy and Daddy’s bedroom while I have sessions. Unless it is nice outside, then they usually play on the swing set outside. It went really well and afterwards, I grabbed a few one year old shots of Juliette. The kids were all enjoying hanging out in the studio. I got a few cute ones of Ellaina and Wolfie. It’s a nice set up having my studio in my house (except when I have to clean the entire main level before a session). Now if I can only be a little better about getting pictures of my own kids :)

Sun, Beach, Destination Wedding, Friends and My Love…

VLUU L100, M100 / Samsung L100, M100 who could ask for more? Our Mexico trip was incredible! We got upgraded to an unbelievable condo with a nice quiet front patio that looked onto a water fall and a private back patio with our own hot tub. It was PERFECT! Our condo was a block up from the beach and a block down from the fun. It was the best of both worlds and Brad was in Mexican food heaven. He enjoys authentic Mexican food and I really enjoyed the live entertainment and guacamole. The group that came for the wedding were all a lot of fun. With them and our dear friends Amanda & Dave, it was the perfect trip :)

On the 18th, I took Amanda & Dave out on the beach for some sunset couple pictures. Little did Amanda know, Dave had planned on purposing to her during the pictures. It was so romantic and a great moment to be able to witness (and photograph) for one of my best friends. The proposal pictures have been kept private :) but I will attach a few of my favorite other ones. A couple days later Amanda took some pictures of Brad and I on the beach. It was very HOT and bright, but we had a lot of fun.

There were a couple nights we hung out with people from the wedding party, which was always fun. We played some paso’s (aka quarters), grilled, hot tubed it up, just lounged and danced (danced offs) and just had good times. We also ventured out to a water park like thing. It was nice, but the scuba wasn’t the best. The fish were scares and not as bright as we had expected. I guess scuba diving in the Bahamas had us spoiled. It was relaxing though. They had hammocks everywhere, which is something I always love to do when I am back home in Minnesota at my parents. There is nothing more relaxing thing kicking your feet up and loungen in a hammock…with your sweetie :)

Our family took such good care of the kids and really enabled us to truly enjoy this vacation. We missed them terribly, but we knew they were in good hands. I would get so excited when I would check my and get an update on the kids. We all agreed it was probably better that we didn’t call. They wouldn’t understand that we weren’t coming yet and it might have made it harder for them. Needless to say it was harder for us though. That was a long time to go without hearing our kid’s voice. We had only been away from them for two days before. I am glad we had the first flight home on Saturday. We couldn’t get back home to them fast enough :)  Thankfully, they had a blast with everyone, and of course were spoiled. Special thanks to the Barron’s, Daugherty’s, Smith’s and Papa and Jeanne. We cannot thank you enough for taking care of and loving on our babies while we were gone. It meant a lot for Brad and I to get away and enjoy some alone time. We really appreciate all you d have done for us and the kids. Thank you , Thank you, Thank you! :)Brad & I mexico IMG_8595IMG_8596IMG_8617IMG_8666IMG_1443IMG_1290IMG_1294IMG_1300IMG_1313IMG_1258VLUU L100, M100 / Samsung L100, M100516853-R1-19-37516853-R1-21-35SDC11091VLUU L100, M100 / Samsung L100, M100VLUU L100, M100 / Samsung L100, M100Mexico - Texas BarMexico - Shots at Texas BarIMG_8484 IMG_1265 VLUU L100, M100 / Samsung L100, M100VLUU L100, M100 / Samsung L100, M100VLUU L100, M100 / Samsung L100, M100Wedding (686)IMG_9711s IMG_9568Wedding (775)Wedding (830) IMG_9595IMG_9589 Proposal (78) chocolate Proposal (9) chocolate Proposal (27) bw Proposal (76) pp
