First Day on Vacation!

We have arrived to the Hotel Yaya beach house! The trip thus far has been so wonderful! We followed Kim and Kevin down here, while little Gavin hopped in our car to ride with the kids. They all enjoyed the car trip. However, I think they asked us about two dozen times if we were almost to the beach.

The ferry ride to Crystal Beach was really cool. For some reason, I was incredibly nervous about that part of the trip. From the ferry, we saw a couple porpoises playing in the Gulf. Once on land again, we drove just a few more miles and reached our destination. Did I mention the house is directly on the beach?  I mean on the beach. Unfortunately, the house wasn’t really ready for guests, so I took the kids down to the beach/ocean to play around. Since I was out numbered, they had to agree to stay away from the water. It was actually an easy promise for the kids to keep, since the sand was so fun.

The beach was FULL of shells and the kids were so excited…who am I kidding I filled my pockets with some gorgeous shells too. We had a blast digging in the sand with shovels and fingers. The kids just plan had a blast with everything! They played and played and played. After showering, we put them all in the bunk beds together for a goodnight sleep. They must have been worn out because together those three are anything but quite, and they went down without a peep :)  I cannot wait to enjoy the rest of the week in vacation paradise!

REALLY!?! Snakes

I forgot about the funny things kids say while they are potty training. Today, Braden went poopy in the potty for the first time! He is doing such a great job potty training. Anytime we are at home, he is using his froggy potty like such a big boy. This was his first experience with pooping though.

He ran to the bathroom and sat on his frog, but said “it’s not working”. This is his token phrase when nothing is coming out. He jumped up, but was standing funny. Then I explained to him going poopy is different and will take a little longer. I grabbed a book and started reading to him so he would stay on the potty. A minute later he jumped up and said “there is a snake in my potty”. Referring to what just came out of his bottom. I just busted out laughing. It was by far the funniest thing he has said potty training thus far :)

Ellaina’s 1st Slivers!

Yesterday we had some friends over to grill out and let the kids run around. It was such a fun night. We ended up having a fire when it got dark. It was the perfect start to the weekend!

After everyone left, Ellaina told me she had something in her toes. It was two little slivers in her tiniest toes. She got very concerned about it hurting when I explained I would have to take them out. It was so late already, so I told her we will talk about it in the morning. This morning she kept looking at her toes and I could tell it was bothering her. I went a head and grabbed the tweezers to get them out. It really wasn’t bad at all. I was a little nervous about pulling them out myself. I kind of remember them not feeling the best when I was little, but she did wonderfully! With a little ointment, two band aids and two kisses everything was right with the world again :)March 2011 (1)March 2011

“No water is coming out”

Those were Braden’s exact words while he was sitting on his frog potty last night. I forgot the hilarious things kids say potty training.
